Water Fun Day

I was walking slowly so I didn't lose the water in my cup, kids were running up and down the path, while I raced towards my house color bucket, I got there and spilled the water in the bucket then I turned around and ran back to where I started so the next person in my team could go. While I waited for my turn to come again I saw the other house’s running everywhere then I saw Soane running back with the cup, then he handed it to me and I filled it up with water and started walking to my house bucket and when I got back Mrs Kelly ringed the bell and we were off to the next game. 

The next game we went to was the Waterslide, on the Waterslide we had to fill up the water and then slide down the Waterslide and run to our house bucket, when it was my turn I filled up the water and ran and slid down the slide, unfortunately, I hit my left foot and badly bruised it but I didn’t give up and I tried one more time and I ended up hitting it again and I bruised it a second time. I decided to sit out and watch because I couldn't move my foot and it badly hurt a lot.

When my class went to the next activity I went with them but I sat out and watched. In this activity they had to soak up the water by using the sponge and come to their house buckets and squeeze the water into the bucket.  

While I was watching the houses, Mrs. Forsyth came and gave me a water gun, I started shooting people when they came to spill the water in their house bucket and I also shot some people from my house too.

Once the bell rang Room 7 and I went to the next activity in the pool I decided to join in because we had to find a partner and piggybank them to the wall and then come back. I was with Soane. He was piggybacking me so I didn’t need to run. We ended up losing but we still had fun because the teacher let us have free time in the pool.

The next activity we did was with Mr. Nath my foot was still sore but I still had a go at the activity. I couldn’t run so I hopped to my house bucket and back. I only had one go at it because my foot hurt so I sat down and kept watching. 

When I sat down I asked, Mrs. Forsyth if I could say something to the speaker she accepted but told me not to say any bad words, when she gave the speaker to me I said “Let’s go Kauri, Let’s go Kauri, Let’s go Kauri” then she took the speaker off me and said don’t touch it again. (I think she said this because she in Kowhai) 

The bell rang again and my class was on to the next activity. The activity was they had to run to the bucket and pop the water balloon and get all the water in the bucket. This activity was the last one so I stayed back at the house buckets and when my team came I started cheering for them.

The bell rang and it was over. It was time to see which house won the water fun day. Everyone sat at their house color groups and then said their chant one by one then we said ours and it was time for the teachers to announce who won. Then the teacher says, “The winner is Kauri” (MY GROUP) Then Soane starts saying our chant, and everyone in Kauri follows on with him and then the day is over.

I enjoyed the first Water Fun Day of 2021 and I had lots of fun. I am looking forward to the next water fun day.
