SLJ - Week 2 Day One - Activity 3: ‘Dear Jacinda’

Dear Jacinda the thing that is most important to me is holidays I wish the holidays was 10 weeks not 6 weeks because every term at school is 10 weeks.

I also don't want to get homework it called holidays for a reason to take a break off school but we should get summer learning journey because of it more fun and it's better than homework but for the summer learning journey, everyone that corporate should get something little too.

Thanks for writing this persuasive letter to our Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern. I appreciate that you've given the reason of a school term being 10 weeks as to why you should be allowed a 10 week holiday. Why do you not think that 6 weeks is suffice?

You know, the SLJ programme was actually created to combat the 'summer slump' which is where school students lose a lot of their reading and writing abilities over this period, don't you think that adding an extra 4 weeks on top of that might make this slump a little worse off?

Cool that you think that the SLJ programme is benefiting students and that it's fun, too!

I thought about that but I wasn't to sure I think we should still have 6 weeks and more homework.

      This was just a thought.

  2. ...nice explanation AJ but if the summer holidays were 10 weeks and each term is 10 weeks (x4 = 40) that would only leave 2 weeks for a break between the othe 3 terms so you'd only get 3 or 4 days between each term. Just my thoughts...
