once upon a time there was a swimmer called Yusra she loved swimming. She was a very good swimmer but when she was little she was afraid of the water.
once her country got attacked that meant it was a war she and her family were scared but once when she tried going to the gym with her dad to go swimming it was destroyed by the bombs that meant she couldn't do the thing she loved the most swimming.
She begged her parents to book a flight to Europe but her parents said no because it was too dangerous but it was also too dangerous to stay in their country.
Yusra's and her cousin and her older sister planned to go to Berlin Germany the things she took were some close and a few cash so she could pay the guys that helped them leave.
When they got on the boat and left they got spotted so they had to go back. They waited for the moon to come out so they wouldn't get spotted and it worked they were on the boat after a while the boat engine stopped working because the boat couldn't hold this 20 people it could only hold 6 people.
Water started coming into the boat everyone started throwing their things into the water and some of them couldn't swim so Yusra and her sister plus another 2 people held on ropes and swam. Yusra wanted to cry but she couldn't because a little boy was looking at her and she didn't want the boy to be sad so she smiled.
They thought they were gonna die but they didn't they could see something in the distances so they kept on swimming and made it.
When Yusra got there she slept on the ground at a refugee camp for months but she was safe and she also heard about a swimming club.
Yusra also got into the Olympics as a refugee she raced in the 100-meter butterfly and won she still lives in Berlin Germany and her parents and little sister lives there with her too.
